Introduction
The Youth Parliament, a flagship initiative of the Government of India, stands as a testament to the spirit of participatory democracy empowering students and youth to contribute meaningfully to the nation's developmental vision and democratic ethos. Under the inspiring leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India continues to progress resolutely on its path of transformation and holistic national development.
In this context, with the objective of strengthening the spirit of nation-building among the youth and students of our country and deepening their faith in our democratic values and duties, the concept of the Bharatiya Youth Parliament has been envisioned.
The first Bharatiya Youth Parliament has been successfully organized in 2025. Following its success, our organization (SRRO), has decided to conduct this event annually on the inspiring occasion of Swami Vivekananda Ji's birth anniversary. Accordingly, the 2nd Bharatiya Youth Parliament is scheduled to be organized on the occasion of 163rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, on Monday, 12th January 2026, in New Delhi, on a grand scale.
This unique initiative connects students to the parliamentary system and encourages them to develop habits aligned with democratic values and responsible citizenship. It aims to cultivate a culture of informed debate, leadership development, and civic participation among the youth.
Mission
The Bharatiya Youth Parliament seeks to empower India's youth by providing a dynamic platform for dialogue, leadership development, and governance simulations. Rooted in the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam(The World is One Family), this initiative aspires to:
- •Foster Leadership: Cultivate critical thinking, advocacy and decision-making skills among young minds.
- •Encourage Active Participation: Engage youth in national policy-making and governance processes.
- •Promote Constitutional Awareness: Instill a sense of responsible citizenship and respect for democratic values.
- •Nurture Transformation: Inspire a generation of leaders to drive reforms and bridge societal divides through meaningful dialogue.
Vision
The Bharatiya Youth Parliament envisions an empowered generation of young Indians who are informed, responsible, and dedicated to nation-building.
- •Empower Youth for Viksit Bharat @2047: Inspire young citizens to contribute towards building a developed, inclusive, and self-reliant India.
- •Strengthen Democratic Values: Nurture respect for the Constitution, unity in diversity and participatory governance.
- •Promote Global Citizenship: Encourage youth to act as ambassadors of peace, sustainability and human values on the world stage.
- •Bridge Aspirations with Action: Transform youth potential into purposeful leadership that shapes India's social, economic and moral progress.
"Youth are the backbone of a nation; their energy, courage, and determination shape the path to a strong, united and prosperous India."
Theme: Kutumb Prabodhan
The theme "Kutumb Prabodhan – Strengthening the Spirit of One Family" draws inspiration from the ancient Indian ideal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning "The world is one family." It reflects the timeless message of harmony, unity and shared responsibility that lies at the heart of India's cultural and civilizational ethos.
In an age of growing individualism and global challenges, Kutumb Prabodhan calls upon the youth to recognize their role as responsible members of a larger human family bound by compassion, mutual respect and collective progress. The theme encourages every young citizen to foster a sense of belonging, inclusivity and moral responsibility, not only within their own communities but also toward the nation and the world.
The Bharatiya Youth Parliament 2026 envisions Kutumb Prabodhan as a transformative idea empowering youth to bridge divides, build understanding and work together for a strong, self-reliant and harmonious India that leads by example in global peace and cooperation.
